The team was assigned to redesign Ocean Power’s automatic paint dispenser, DMA1625-00-00. The aim was to remodel the outer look, offer a modular storage for the canisters and offer a placement for a laptop. A market analysis was conducted to investigate existing paint dispensers and to get inspiration. Thereafter the project group discussed the requirements, the customers and the company had, with the sales department. The time limit for this project was two weeks.

Poor hand hygiene is the main factor for bacteria spreading in hospitals. The aim of this project was to minimise the contamination of gloves by designing a more user-friendly medical glove box holder. A service design methodology was utilised to probe the frustration moments during usage of the existing glove box holder and to make improvements. The study showed that it was important for the hospital personnel to be able to pull out one glove per time, without having to dig inside the glove box. By fulfilling these requirements, the new glove box holder was used more correctly than the existing box holder. The design of the new glove box holder prevents hospital personnel from putting back gloves and from digging inside the glove box. The redesigned glove box holder decreased the contamination level. This was verified by taking samples on respective product and growing bacteria on RODAC plates. By decreasing the contamination, the risk of getting infections and the number of deaths at the hospitals might decrease. Also, the environmental impact and expenses caused by the glove waste were minimised.

The soft ice cream machine is designed for professional use, it is easy to maintain and ergonomic. The hatch makes it possible to easily access the components. The two upper nuts are longer to make it easier for the user to unscrew the handles' panel. The ventilation openings are formed to prevent dirt from falling down in the machine and potentially break the interior components.
